In the BA in TEFL:
The Teaching Practicum strand is the gradual exercise of teaching, which supports practitioners during their formation. It promotes the integral application of knowledge and skills developed during the program, starting with exploration until achieving proficiency in teaching, enforcing a reflective attitude during the process.
En la Licenciatura en Docencia del Idioma Inglés:
El área Prácticas de Enseñanza, es el ejercicio gradual de la
docencia que apoya al alumno en su formación (...). Propicia la
aplicación integral de los conocimientos que se adquieren
durante el desarrollo del programa, iniciando desde la exploración hasta el logro del dominio de la práctica docente fomentando una actitud reflexiva durante todo el proceso.
FRECUENT COURSES ON TEACHING PRACTICUM
Classroom Observation
A first encounter with the real world for the TEFL practitioner. Observing activities, students and teachers provides a general view of attitudes and behaviors in the classroom.
Teaching Workshop I
Simulated practices as a first attempt to teach. Practitioners start controlling first time nerves and show inherent skills along with reflection on their own performance.
Teaching Practicum I
Real groups in diverse kind of schools around town, selected by practitioners. Continuous teaching along the semester, supported by individual sessions with a designated tutor under a process composed by planning, teaching, reflecting, feedback, and doing it all over again.
